It isn’t easy for pet owners who do not own a car to take their pet dogs to the veterinary for a checkup. With major cab services providers in the city not allowing pets in their cars, it is quite difficult to get a sick pet dog to the vet. To resolve this issue, an animal welfare staff in Chandigarh has begun a distinct carrier — pet taxi — in Tricity.
Vikas Luthra, founder, Furever friends, the group that has begun the carrier, said,
“Pets aren’t allowed in cabs, developing bother for house owners. This used to be the reason we considered beginning the carrier. The fees might be nominal. The carrier be offered for stray canine too. After every drop, the car is correctly sanitized. As canine would possibly carry micro organism or virus, protection of others becomes necessary.”
The carrier was launched on a pilot foundation in January. With the awareness about the service spreading, more and more people are availing the service and now they have 3 automobiles providing the service in the city.
“Initially, one carrier used to be supplied within the release month. Now weekly one or two services and products are being supplied. We will get started selling the carrier on social media in order that extra other folks can benefit,” said Luthra.
Furever Friends have been helping stray animals within the Tricity for quite a long time now and they have been widely appreciated for their efforts. Recently, they rescued some stray dogs who fell into a drain. Furever friends staff worked diligently with the Municipal corporation officials until midnight to save the dogs.
Furever Friends also operates an unfastened ambulance carrier for the stray canine. They are highly active during festival seasons such as Diwali and Holi.
