A man has been booked by the Madipakkam police for beating up a woman whose dog urinated over his house boundary wall.
A 10 second video shot by a bystander went viral in which the man named Sridhar was seen beating up a woman with a pipe after an argument over her dog’s frequent urination on Sridhar’s house wall on daily basis. A case has been registered by Madipakkam police for assault, voluntarily causing hurt and using of abusive language.
Police confirms that the woman named T Suguna, aged 35, who is a resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Nanganallur, was walking down her dog when it urinated on the compound wall of Sridhar’s house. Since, this have been a frequent happening, Sridhar got enraged and picked up a fight with Suguna. The argument heated after which Sridhar picked up a pipe and went on beating up the woman. She suffered injuries on her face but nothing serious has been reported.
The video shot by a bystander became quite important for the case. A buzz was soon created as the video went viral and people enraged over a man beating up a woman. However, police investigation says that the woman used to always bring her dog to the man’s house wall to urinate, which may have caused the abrupt behavior by the accused.
Police also say that it might be T Suguna who used swear words against the man to provoke such a reaction from him. Neighbors say that Sridhar had continually asked the woman in the past to take her dog somewhere else for its business. Both had verbal duels previously as well.
