The scorching heat of the summers has started troubling Indian people and the effects of rising heat are starting to show in the canine kingdom as well. With no adequate water supply for stray dogs, they tend to get aggressive. This aggressiveness is directed towards people walking on the street.
To prevent attacks by street dogs in summers, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has sought a plan to install water tanks for the stray animals in the city. The plan includes installing water tanks all across Jaipur. The step has come after several canine experts have pointed out that due to less availability of water and rise in temperature, the canines become aggressive and restless. This is one of the main reasons why summers rake up the highest number of dog bite cases in the country.
JMC is going to install 250 water tanks around the city near the parks and localities where most strays mark their territories.
Badri Prasad Sharma, DC Garden, said that the actual plan is to install 500 tanks in the city around the garden areas and local parks. Task has been assigned to several contractors to install the tanks and no separate tender was issued.
There have been numerous incidences of street dog attacks reported in the past few weeks and to tackle the issue, JMC has come up with this solution.
