CISF Honours Service Dogs On Retirement

Recently, CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) bid farewell to 7 service dogs. They retired the dogs with soldier honors after the dogs served 8 years in the para-military force.

“Born as a dog, retired as a soldier,” the CISF posted the message from its Twitter handle.

The dogs were in the CISF team that handles the security for Delhi Metro. On the occasion of their retirement, the dogs were given mementos, medals, and certificates during the ceremony organized by the CISF.

According to sources, this was the first time something like this has happened, where a unit organized a retirement function for the dogs who served in the force. The CISF posted a farewell message on the Twitter handle as well.

The dogs were treated to their favorite food during the ceremeony and were later handed over to a Delhi-based NGO.
